The College of Life Sciences (CLS) at the University of Dundee houses over 50 groups and 800 scientists dedicated to discovering basic mechanisms in cell and developmental biology and the development of new diagnostics and therapies for neglected diseases. CLS houses 18 confocal, wide-field and multiphoton imaging systems and a 240 TB data management system for use by all researchers.
Prof. Dr. Jason Swedlow is Professor of Quantitative Cell Biology and member of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation and Expression. He is one of the founders of the Open Microscopy Environment Consortium (OME), an international collaborative open source group delivering specifications and tools for imaging in cell and developmental biology. Prof. Swedlow will lead WP3 on the creation of standards for cell migration research: minimal reporting requirements, controlled vocabularies, and data exchange formats, together with supportive libraries and associated software.
